Guiding the Path to Excellence

At BBP Baseball, our coaches are more than mentors; they are the architects of success, guiding players through a journey of growth, skill development, and the sheer joy of the game.

TJ McGuire

Coach & General Manager

TJ McGuire started playing baseball at the age of five and quickly developed a love for the sport. He played on the light blue T-ball team for BBPLL before moving on to play travel baseball for the BBP Bombers. On the Bombers, TJ competed in some of the toughest divisions and tournaments on Long Island and across the East Coast. In high school, TJ was a three-year varsity starter for BBP and played on the 2014 Class A State Championship team. He then attended McDaniel College and competed in the Centennial Conference from 2017-2022. At McDaniel, TJ was a four-year team captain and is part of the 100-hit club with a career batting average of .315. Since graduating, TJ has had the opportunity to coach beside Jim Moccio as an assistant coach for BBP High School. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team, helping players develop their skills both on and off the field. Professionally, TJ is currently a first-grade ENL teacher at Charles E. Walters Elementary School in Longwood Central School District. He is committed to helping young students succeed and brings the same level of dedication to coaching baseball. TJ believes that baseball is more than just a game – it’s a metaphor for life. He has learned countless lessons from the sport that has helped him navigate through his life, and he is passionate about passing those lessons on to his players.

Luke Mischo

Coach

As a coach, Luke Mischo brings a wealth of playing experience to the table. He learned the game right here in Bayport-Blue Point, playing under Matt McGuire and the original Bombers from 8u-16u. He was fortunate enough to play varsity baseball for BBP under coach Jim Moccio and win a Suffolk County Championship. Luke continued his playing career through college at Binghamton University playing NCBA club baseball. Currently, he is coaching high school/middle school baseball teams and advising two clubs at Three Village School District. When he’s not coaching, Luke enjoys golfing, working out, and tennis. He finds it hard to pick just one thing that he enjoys about coaching baseball. He loves the subtle nuances that underlie the outcome of every game and the fact that the entire team must work together to win. Lastly, the game is unique in that it does not discriminate against size!

Chris Lewandowski

Coach
Chris Lewandowski is a dedicated and knowledgeable baseball coach with a passion for the game, although his journey has been an unconventional one. He stopped playing baseball at a young age to pursue travel ice hockey but returned to the game at the age of 14. With the help of his high school coach, he was able to enhance his skills and become a three-year varsity starter. Chris’ hard work and dedication paid off as he went on to play collegiate baseball and even a season of rookie ball in the Florida Gulf Coast League. Chris has volunteered and supported several youth baseball programs and held pitching clinics and lessons for multiple Long Island high schools. Chris believes that baseball is more than just a sport; it’s a vehicle for teaching life lessons such as overcoming adversity, the value of hard work, and becoming a team-oriented individual. Chris and his wife Noelle live in Bayport with their four boys and enjoy spending time on the water, at the beaches, or fishing during Long Island summers.

In the summer of 2004, Eddie played for the Sanford Mainers in the New England Collegiate Baseball League. He strongly believes that hard work pays off and that success cannot be achieved without failure. Most importantly, Eddie loves his family and is grateful for their support throughout his coaching and playing career.
